Corks, Synthetics or Screw caps

Corks have almost a 15% failure rate due to bacteria contamination.
Synthetics are better but can be very difficult, if not impossible, to remove.
When I was in New Zealand in March every wine that we tasted between $10 and $70 had a screw cap.  I didn’t have one bad bottle of wine
most of the wine the we buy is consumed within a week so that a cork for breathing is not necessary.  Yes, it takes away from the romance, but how romantic is a bad tasting bottle of wine.
More often then not when you have a bottle of wine that is too dry or that you don’t like it’s not because the wine is made improperly (us wine specialists cull those out) but it is because the wine has a bad bacteria infected cork.
Please enjoy good wine
