Single Vineyard Pinot Noir at this price point are hard to come by. Especially with the press and pedigree of Vina San Pedro 1865. Over 150 years of wine-making has taught them a thing or two, especially about where to plant the best vineyards. El Platero is located in the Elqui Valley, made up primarily of deep granite soils, large stones and the occasional extraterrestrial meteorite. It's also the best place in the entire world for stargazing, because there is such little water vapor in the atmosphere. That means less non-organic material needed for vineyard management, and a greater focus on bio-dynamics. Highly influenced by direct sun exposure and a constant wind that whips down from the Andes, this Pinot Noir is very fruit driven. Seductive aromas of red cherries, black raspberries, and cloves along with a smooth, elegant texture. Great volume and fresh fruit flavors that deliver a long, smooth and fruity finish. Outstanding for the price!
